Test-optional doesn’t mean test-irrelevant

I want to clear up one of the biggest misconceptions I hear from parents:

“Since schools are test-optional, we don’t need to worry about ACT or SAT yet.”

Here’s the reality:

• Scholarships still use test scores
• Some schools quietly change requirements
• Certain majors still care deeply
• And late testing creates unnecessary pressure
