Parents, did you know one of the most overlooked parts of the college application is the essay?
Ask your kid, have you given any thought to your college application essay? Is it good enough to get you in to your dream school?
Writing a compelling, unique essay can make them stand out from other applicants and secure their admission!
Grades and test scores reveal a student's academic ability, but colleges want to know more about your child— especially this year! Don't let their essays fall flat and and limit their opportunities, and don't let them procrastinate until the last minute (trust me, they will).
We make essay writing easy and hassle free.
What you'll get:
Five days of small-group essay writing! We'll teach students what topics to avoid, how to brain storm their essay, how to construct a compelling story, and more. Worried about their technical writing skills? We'll help there, too!
Monday— How to Pick a Topic
The topic may be the most critical part of the essay. Sure, your essay needs to be well written, but if it is boring, they are going to set it down and move on to the next one. Remember, admissions representatives have hundreds of essays to read each year!
We will teach you:
- How to brainstorm a compelling and unique idea.
- What topics to avoid when writing personal essays.
- How to create an interesting thesis.
- How to format that thesis statement.
Forget the old boring outline, we will teach you to mind map, which will make application essays a breeze and all of your college writing easier next year!
Tuesday— Writing the Body Paragraphs
We'll focus on learning how to be concise while still being descriptive. The key is to keep the reader engaged with your content while still getting your entire point across.
Wednesday— It’s All About the Hook!
How to write a hook that keeps your reader interested and focused, meaning more time spent on your essay and application. Writing a conclusion that makes an impact is important when you want to be moved into the accepted pile.
Thursday— Time to Make Edits
This is when grammar counts. We will fine tune your essay to ensure that it is not only great content, but also well written.
Friday— Final Edits and Submit
This is the day to polish your essays. At the end of the day, you will feel confident that you have a great essay that displays your unique qualities. We will make sure that students are ready to hit that submit button by the end of this week.
Each section is guided by a former College Admission Representative who knows exactly what colleges are looking for and how to make your essay stand out!
You only apply once, don't leave it to chance.
Class will meet 5 days, and each session will be one hour. Up to three essays will be completed at the end of the class, with students given the tools to write many, many more!
This a small group— space is limited so sign up today
