What makes the Kelly MacLean Achievement Center different?
College Recruiting Specialists was founded on the premise of empowering students on their journey to discovery. Our roots were founded in helping high school students get recruited for athletics, but we soon grew into much more. As of November 2019, College Recruiting Specialists is now the Kelly MacLean Achievement Center. This change of names reflects our desire to help all students achieve, not just athletes!
Founder Kelly MacLean knows that we all just want more for our children. This passion blended with over 20 years of coaching, college recruiting, admissions counseling and scholarship expertise impacts students’ lives beyond high school and college; the life skills and decision-making tools can transform their journey. Kelly and the KMAC team become part of each family, coaching students on how to learn, how to study, how to achieve their academic potential while discovering their true goals. All of this is accomplished with a strengths–driven approach and comprehensive plan to help students demystify college selection and career planning.
Kelly MacLean’s resourcefulness has been sought after for years since successfully guiding high school student-athletes to earn Division I and II scholarships. She has collaborated with professional athletes to help inner city students understand recruiting, NCAA rules, etc. Schools such as Kent State University have engaged her presentations, and the Ohio Society for Certified Public Accountants recently tapped her to present ideas and insights on financial aid at their annual CPA convention. As a top contributor for STACK magazine, Kelly unveils information regarding NCAA rules, eligibility and scholarships. She is also a member of Ohio Association of College Admission Counselors, NCAA Compliance Forum, Women in Sports & Events, and Association of Sport Coaching Education.
The success of KMAC’s students can be contributed to the holistic, yet uniquely tailored and relentlessly thoughtful approach. It is not just about improving ACT/SAT scores, or gaining admission to the perfect college, or getting recruited to play sports; it is the total package. Kelly and the KMAC team of mentors are invested in piecing the journey together for students during high school & throughout the college transition, ultimately into adulthood and a career that are both satisfying and rewarding.
That is empowerment!
